The Associate Engineer, QA is a team member for the development of tests for a specific product component.
In this position, the Associate Engineer, QA works with more Principal and Higher level QA Engineers for direction and task assignments.
Reviews test cases and plans with other QA members.
May execute existing automated test scripts.
Develop test cases at a system level geared toward performance testing according to project plans and priorities.
Review/Execute test cases and collect performance results in a methodical, repeatable manner.
Design and implement “other” automation (i.e.; PowerShell scripts, AutoIT, VB Script) to increase efficiency of testing.
Analyze performance metrics geared toward a Customer audience.
Knowledge on automation using LoadRunner as the primary test tool.
Write defects in a clear concise manner using ClearQuest.
Conducts technical investigation of product defects raised by customers or other internal groups like QA or Support.
Coordinates, responds, tracks and follows-up on customer problem reports/technical support requests.
Interacts with internal cross-functional members to better understand system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
Ensures products are up to date with 3rd party components that are in use.
Proactively identify non-compliance of code against requirements/standards/design and raise defects.
Follows processes, guidelines, procedures and best practices that have been defined by senior staff and management.
Experience in testing for benchmark limits or performance scenarios in a system level fashion with focus on CPU, memory, disk IO, networking analysis and response times.
Experience with Microsoft Lync and Exchange a plus.
Experience with VMWare and HyperV a plus.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server being able to perform basic queries.
Knowledge of Microsoft and java related programming including .NET, C#, Silverlight.
Novice level knowledge of engineering tools, methods and processes.
Ability to communicate technical information to internal audiences.

Works on projects of limited complexity.
Ability to develop resolutions to problems of limited scope and follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
Ability to use technical concepts to solve routine problems.
Performs under direct management, supervision, and mentoring of a Senior Engineer or higher.
0-2 years of experience.
Fluent in the English language with strong written English skills.
Four year degree in technical or engineering field (B.S. in Computer Science, Electronics, Mathematics or related discipline strongly preferred) Minimum B.E. or MCA for Bangalore, India.
Ability to pass a background check may also be required.
Physical requirements include sitting for long periods of time.
