TITLE: Sales Manager – Science, India

REPORTS TO: Country Manager- Instruments, India

SUMMARY:

As Sales Manager-Science, India, you will be responsible for identifying and implementing sales and business development projects relating to old/new products and/or industries, technologies and services.

You will provide strategic direction and leadership; develop comprehensive account plans; identify and qualify new business opportunities in India.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a pipeline of strategically relevant business opportunities related to business.

You will primarily be responsible for sales of Science and R&D range of thermal imaging products through direct & distribution in India.

You will work with Distributors, inside sales, marketing and potential customers to determine their needs.

You will also develop and disseminate information on a continuous basis to all pertinent parties concerning the fulfillment of project goals and objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee all phases of Sales and business development activities to ensure business and financial objectives are attained.

Develop channel network for FLIR.

Manage the development of new strategic business opportunities and expansion of existing business opportunities. May consult with management in pursuing business partnerships, alliances that enhance the capabilities of the organization.

Assess potential business opportunities through activities such as market and economic analysis, monitoring competitive activity and identifying customer needs.

Manage and influence the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of offers.

Consult with executive management to develop and implement current, annual and long-term schedule, quality, business, and financial objectives for the unit(s) and participate in the development of Group/Company objectives.

Act as the primary contact for sales and business development activities in India. May lead progress review sessions to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance and to disseminate information on a continuous basis to all pertinent parties concerning the fulfillment of project goals and objectives.

Identify Sales and business development issues and provide leadership in developing solutions such as re-allocation of resources .

Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Providing responses for product and technical requests.

Participating at conferences, tradeshows and other events as required by Sales Management and Product Marketing.

Demonstrating an in-depth understanding of the company products, function, features and benefits.

Providing specifications and quotes to prospective customers and Distributors.

REQUIREMENTS:

The person should be minimum, Graduate Engineer with a degree of BE/B.TECH in Electronics/Electrical or from Physics background with distribution Sales experience of minimum 6-10 years in Indian Science and R&D sector. Master’s in Physics/Business Administration shall be preferred.

Ability to understand and implement strategy to meet Quarterly and yearly targets including forecasting.

Applicant preferably should be based at Bangalore.

He should have complete knowledge of Indian Science and R&D market.

Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to teach and explain FLIR product capabilities to the field user are of utmost importance to include working specific operational issues.

Must demonstrate a detailed and extensive expertise and application of sales and business development principles and concepts, and practice as well as comprehensive project management and leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.

Strong communication, leadership, and presentation skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers andpotential customers.

Customer focused, must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment, and able to work extended hours and travel as required.
