Total amount of work W = N* D*W

Where N = Number of men, D = Number of days, W = amount of work per day.

Applying the above formula for company A we get, work done by company A to deliver

100 parcels = 5*5 *8 = 200 –eq 1 Work done by company B to deliver 100 parcels = 5*D *6 = 24D –Seq2

Since the work to be done is same in both the cases, eq1 = eq2 or 200 = 24D or D= 8.3

2. Consider a group of working men. If 1/10th of the workers are absent then work of each person would be increased by.

Let us assume 100 units of work is divided among 10 men.

When no one is absent, each member have to do 100/10 = 10 units of the work

With 1/10th of men absent, there would be 9 men present.

Extra work required from each member when only 9 men are present = 100 /9 – 10 = 10 /9 units.

Percentage of increase of work for each member = ( Extra Work required from each member when only 9 men are present) / ( Original amount of work when everyone is present) * 100 % = ()10/9)*/10)* 100% = 11.11%

3) In an examination, it is required to score 32% of the aggregate marks for  a student to pass the examination. Raju has scored 250 marks and was declared failed by 22 marks. Find the aggregate marks?

Let the aggregate marks be X. Minimum pass mark is = 250 + 22 = 272

32% of X is 272. i.e. (32/100)* X = 272

X = 272 * 100 /32 = 850. Hence the aggregate mark is 850.

An Individual deposited 20% of 25% of 30% of what he had into his account with a bank. If he deposited Rs.750, how much was he having initially with him before depositing?

Let the initial amount he had be A

30% of A = 30/100*A

25% of 30% of A = 25/100 *30/100 * A

20% of 25% of 30% of A = 20/100 * 25/100 *30/100 * A

But it is given that 20% of 25% of 30% of A = 750

Or 20/100 * 25/100 * 30/100 * A = 750

Therefore A = 750 * 100/20* 100/25 * 100/30 = 50000

The Population of a Village is 45000. 5/9th of them are males and rest females. If 40% of the males are married, then the percentage of married females is:
